  • City of Prince George seeking public input on budget priorities
Posted on October 25, 2022

The City of Prince George is seeking the public’s input on their priorities regarding the city’s 2023 budget.

An online Citizen Budget survey started on Monday and is open until Nov. 13. The results of the survey will be compiled and presented to city council, ahead of their 2023 budget deliberations, expected to take place in January.

“As in previous years, the ‘Citizen Budget’ simulator and survey lets participants experiment with city budget allocations for various municipal services,” a city statement issued on Monday says. “Respondents enter their property tax assessment into the platform to see their tax dollars distributed across City operations like roads and transportation. They can adjust funding allocation values for an idea of how changes to service levels affect their tax bill.”

The online survey has been used since 2015, as part of the city’s public consultation process.
