  • Prince George library hosting fall book sale this weekend
Posted on November 4, 2022

The Friends of the Prince George Library Society and Prince George Public Library are hosting their annual fall book this weekend.

Society members get early access and can shop on Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bob Harkins branch downtown. Society membership can be purchased on site for $5 (cash only). The public sale takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We are thrilled to announce we will be hosting a book sale at the Bob Harkins Branch tomorrow and Saturday,” society past president and director Margaret Johnston said in a statement issued on Thursday. “The April and June sales were very successful and very well attended and we are eager to offer this opportunity again this weekend. Please bring cash, your reusable bags, and a love of book and bargains.”

Books and other items are for sale by cash donation, with the proceeds going to support special programs, initiatives and the purchase of items at the Prince George Public Library. The society has raised more than $440,000 to support the library since it was founded in 1990.

The Friends of the Prince George Public Library Society is a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting programs and services at the library.

“We believe that developing libraries is a crucial part of developing communities, and so we support the Prince George Public Library’s success by promoting the library and raising necessary funds for special library projects,” Johnston said.
